Oswego School Board Budget Update
| |
Following is information relating to AT programs in Oswego School District 308, following the Feb. 8, 2010 district board meeting to
discuss budget concerns. The information comes from Dr. Marsha Hollis-Golden, Assistant Superintendent at Oswego School District #308.
This is a great show of support for the AT Program from our district administration.
|
Highlights from the meeting were as follows:
Currently junior high does have AT Language Arts and Math at grades 6, 7 and 8. No changes are recommended at this time. There will be no changes to the high school program.
Placement criteria and identification will remain the same; 3rd - 8th grade.
Those students currently in the program will remain in the program.
The restructuring will involve eliminating 2nd grade, second semester AT.
Elementary AT teachers will not be available to support elementary teachers through the collaboration instruction model.
Reflecting the elimination of 2nd grade, all students will be tested in the Spring. All testing will be done in the Spring.
There will be 3rd - 5th grade AT Reading, Math and Tomag group as is done this year.
The District is pleased to have preserved the core components of the program.
If you support having the AT program in our district, if your child has benefited from the AT program, or if you have a younger child who may benefit in the future, please kindly take a moment to thank our administration and ask for their continued support:
